People always ask us, where do you find your models? Everywhere! Model sites, on the street, and even myspace, and that's where we found the luscious Gretta. After weeks of planning and rescheduling, MAXX photographer Chad Jason of Risqé Factor finally got his first shoot with Gretta, shooting a conceptualized set, "getting just enough shots before I blew my battery pack," comments Chad. "It was a great shoot, something new for me, and new for Gretta, trying something different, and my first outdoor shoot with studio lights. It was a lot of fun, and she did great, and gave me one of the best shots I've gotten to date," Chad recalls of his first shoot with Gretta back in April of 2008.
Since then, Gretta has gone on to do a number of shoots with various photographers, including additional sets with Chad, and gotten some amazing images, always with a look that is truly captivating and just makes you want to stare.
Gretta was excited with MAXX asked her to be the October covermodel and took some time to reveal a bit about herself.
What got you into modeling?
"It started out with my mom telling me I should try to become a model, then all sorts of people started saying I should try it and I did. =)"
What was your first "professional" modeling gig?
"My first professional gig was with Risqe Factor! It was a good choice too, because from then on I started becoming noticed very quickly."
Recalling his shoots with Gretta, Chad noted that she instantly became a star with people viewing his portfolio. "She was an instant hit, and people loved her look."
Chad remembers her first shoot, awkward posing on your own - now she's an ol' pro... How'd you pick up the best poses that look the hottest on you?
"I learn from the outcome of every shoot. I pick which poses looked best and always try to improve on them. I also got a lot of help from a photographer friend, Tim Engle, he pushed my limits and really taught me alot about how to pose.
Other than dressing in a silver outfit, wig and shimmery white powder for her Electricity shoot with Risqe Factor, we asked Gretta what's the craziest thing she's ever done on a whim, she laughs and leaves it at that.
What about for a photoshoot?
"Hmm...I had to walk almost a mile in 102 degree weather, while carrying 3 heavy bags of stuff...once we got there I almost hyperventilated because it was so hot and I couldn't breathe while we were shooting...it was terrible!"
Although her interests tend to lean more towards the alternative style of modeling, "because its very creative and catches people eyes," she loves all types of modeling and would love to "become one of the girls from Victoria Secret. A girl can dream, right?"
From your myspace, we seen you've had some dramatic makeup styles. Who normally does your makeup? What do you like most about dramatic looks?
"I do all my own makeup, I've practiced on myself ever since I can remember, working with different shades and colors to emphasize my eyes. Dramatic looks do that perfectly."
And, her eyes really do stand out, but what about the hair? When we first met her, she was known for her dazzling red hair, what made you change your look?
"I guess I just got tired of the same red hair. I wanted to go back to my blond roots...I tried doing that and it left me with this half blond-half orange look, but I kinda like it."
When you're not modeling, what do you love most to do with your free time?
"I love to go shopping! It takes my mind off of things & puts me in a better mood. But besides that, I am the type of girl that likes to relax at home, pop in a movie and cuddle up with my loved one."
Speaking of love, who would be your dream modeling partner?
"My boyfriend, because he's always there for me and manages me better than I do! He is also a photographer, and we make a great team."
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? 20 years? Still modeling?
I am not sure what I'll be doing. Life brings so many surprises that you cant really know whats going to happen, just hope for the best and live life to the fullest.
What would you do instead of modeling?
"Right now I am thinking of persuing a career in becoming a nurse, although I am really interested in psychology so I might become a psychiatrist."
What advice would you give anyone wanting to model?
"I think that beauty and confidence lies within, its not about being super skinny or super tall, its about what's your heart. I think that everyone should follow their dreams, so If you want to become a model, go for it!"
